3 Cool Video games After An Unattainable Week

Play it on: PS5, Xbox Collection X/S, Swap, Home windows PCs (Steam Deck: “Playable”)Present aim: Vibe out within the dystopia

Whether or not I’m dragging out the ending of Clair Obscur or continuously hopping into periods of Doom: The Darkish Ages, a lot of the video games I’ve been enjoying currently rely upon my direct, undiverted consideration to dodge and parry. I like that problem, however I might use a break. So, this weekend I’m spending some extra time with Citizen Sleeper, which is maybe the precise reverse of what I’ve been enjoying. I additionally wish to try its sequel, Citizen Sleeper 2, earlier than the yr is over, so it felt vital to start out with the primary.

Launched again in 2022 with its sequel arriving in January of 2025, this RPG provides up some chill area vibes displaced by the load of some splendidly written dystopian science fiction. The story and dialogue listed here are one thing particular. Generally I’ll simply linger on a single sentence or two at a time, be it some intensely written, introverted speculations of the protagonist as they take into account their relationship to their physique and self, or the great depictions of parents dwelling on the sport’s area station. Additionally, having not too long ago undergone two main surgical procedures myself, descriptions of coming out and in of consciousness and the duty of sustaining my physique in a online game really feel very completely different to me emotionally than they might’ve earlier than. I’m discovering all of it provides as much as a reasonably neat expertise that I would like extra of. — Claire Jackson
