One of many video games that has been giving a variety of hassle on the Steam Deck and different Linux gadgets is Dragon Age: Inquisition. Whereas it’s a nice sport, it has all the time had an issue with the common Proton model equipped by Valve. For no matter cause, the sport would run, however the controller wouldn’t be acknowledged. To get round this, cammoore1 created DAI-Proton, a particular layer that features the repair for Inquisition so we might play with out problem. Nevertheless, simply final week, that repair might have made its manner into the conventional layer, as the sport obtained the Playable badge.
Final week, the sport formally acquired the Playable badge, being upgraded from the Unsupported one. With the brand new badge, it notes that the default graphical configuration and controller configuration work effectively, however the in-game textual content is small; it’ll generally present the wrong controller icons, and we might want to manually deliver up the digital keyboard. It additionally notes that it would want a neighborhood controller configuration, which instantly contradicts the default controller configuration working effectively, in order that’s just a little complicated.
What makes this very great is that it lastly displays how straightforward it’s to get into and play the sport now. Again in August, the Proton Experimental department acquired an replace that fastened controller assist in Dragon Age: Inquisition, however till final week, it was nonetheless rated Unsupported. Now, I might say the ranking precisely displays the state of the sport on the Deck.
Dragon Age: Inquisition might be bought for $39.99 on Steam.
