My first ocarina was from a hippy store in Birmingham that additionally offered dreamcatchers. It was a round brick-coloured one with zig-zag patterns, most likely meant to look ‘ethnic’?
Just a few years later I discovered some charcoal-dark, pebble-smooth pendant Ocarinas while backpacking in China. They feel and look virtually naturally shaped, weather-hewn, igneous.
