Battlefield 6 scored numerous factors with collection followers when DICE introduced that its cosmetics can be “grounded,” defying the norms of an FPS scene inundated with ugly crossover bundles. By the low requirements of the time, it is honest to say the studio has saved its phrase to date, however some followers suppose Battlefield 6 is already tumbling down a slippery slope.
On a Battlefield subreddit thread that is already amassed 11,000 upvotes and hundreds of feedback, people are blasting a specific kin noticed in an early construct of Season 1, which begins October 18. “Depraved Grin” is a variant of a default NATO assault outfit with a vivid blue camo sample. Its in-game description suggests it will be given away as a free retailer reward.
“‘Grounded skins for some time’— 18 days precisely,” wrote Reddit consumer Ohforfk. “Colourful weapons with photos, colourful camos with neon accents, bizarre mixture of issues which can be speculated to look cool, however find yourself merely bizarre.”

“Is it sensible? No. Is it extra grounded than Beavis and Butthead, Peter Griffin, Sgt. PsPsPs, Wubz, Feelin Sloothy, the listing goes on….. I might say sure,” wrote DrizzyDragon93.
Not less than one participant plans to take their protest with them into the sport.
“I cannot revive anybody carrying this type of pores and skin. My take,” wrote consumer Charlikruse.
I am not as able to declare Battlefield 6 an uggo hellscape, however the vivid blue camo of Depraved Grin is undeniably a mismatch among the many current lineup of usually sensible army put on. Sooner or later, the studio was sure to step in it after making such a broad promise, and what we’re seeing now could be the number of methods individuals interpreted that promise.
You can argue that coloured camos are literally in line with Battlefield 6’s artwork model if you happen to loop in gun skins: I have never noticed many gamers who’ve unlocked the completionist weapon camos but, however they will get colourful and camo-y similar to Depraved Grin.
However outfits are (and possibly ought to be) held to a special normal. Customizing a gun pores and skin is like adorning the within of your locker—an area that no one else ever will get a superb have a look at. When outfits go overboard, as they’ve in Name of Responsibility and others, they grow to be everybody else’s drawback.
Hopefully Depraved Grin proves to be an anomaly. Rory had a have a look at the opposite new skins current in Battlefield 6 Season 1 and, to my eye, they largely match Battlefield 6’s world sufficient that they would not stick out like an unsightly thumb.
