Twisted Tower doesn’t attempt to conceal its BioShock inspiration. As an alternative, it embraces it, utilizing what gamers know of BioShock to set expectations and shock; after enjoying by means of its story in about 8 hours in simply two sittings, I can now add “delight.” It takes place within the twentieth Century and stars a person making an attempt to save lots of his love. To take action, he should journey to the Twisted Tower amusement park, a mixture of BioShock’s Rapture and Walt Disney World, with the deserted twistedness you’d anticipate from the previous and the hokey thrills and theming you’d anticipate from the latter. Utilizing first-person, largely gun-focused fight and a few unlockable toys that provide you with talents like sprint and grapple, you’ll traverse 5 themed ranges as you make your manner up the titular landmark. All of the whereas, Mr. Tornado goads and mocks you alongside the way in which, in a really Andrew Ryan-esque manner. After all, there are narrative twists, scares, a lot of blood, and loads of demented workers who have not clocked out of their Twisted Tower shift but, awaiting you in every, and it stays enjoyable from begin to end. It may really feel a bit rudimentary in how a lot it leans on its inspirations, however it’s probably the greatest BioShock-likes I’ve performed in a minute, and it is excellent for an thrilling weekend gaming jaunt.
