Legendary journey recreation designer Ron Gilbert has introduced Thimbleweed Park 2, a sequel to his 2017 pixel-art point-and-click journey recreation about two Mulder and Scully-like characters (to not point out a number of different playable heroes) fixing a homicide thriller, together with a whole bunch of puzzles alongside the best way. It is in growth for PC (on Steam and GoG), Mac, and Linux, and it is due out in early 2028.
“I’ve excellent news and unhealthy information,” Gilbert posted on his GrumpyGamer weblog. “First the excellent news. The excellent news is that we simply began manufacturing on Thimbleweed Park 2, due out in early 2028. We are going to self-publish with the assistance of a personal investor. Mark Ferrari, Gary Winnick, David Fox, Octavi Navarro, Robert Megone, and others from the unique crew shall be again!”
He then invited followers to wishlist the sequel on Steam earlier than including, “Now the unhealthy information. There is no such thing as a unhealthy information, it’s all excellent news.”
IGN (and particularly me) gave Thimbleweed Park an 8.5 out of 10, praising its pixel artwork and good puzzles. Since then, Gilbert returned to the Monkey Island sequence he created with 2022’s Return to Monkey Island, a very sudden mission (in truth, it was soft-announced on April Idiot’s Day that 12 months earlier than being formally revealed a couple of days later) that proved you’ll be able to go residence once more, with Gilbert and his crew delivering a near-perfect conclusion to Guybrush Threepwood’s story; I gave it a 9 out of 10 in IGN’s overview.
