Ken coolly serves the most popular information tales and has performed, we expect, each recreation ever made.
Printed: October 2, 2026
October has begun, and with it the Steam Autumn Sale. Valve’s periodic fiesta of reductions is simply as packed as ever, whether or not you are seeking to atone for the spectacular roster of recent releases in 2026, or simply hoping to seize a few of the greatest PC video games of all time at their lowest value but. With financial savings galore throughout the shop, it may be just a little overwhelming to select what you are going to spend your hard-earned money on. As a way to assist rectify that, I’ve pulled collectively ten of the highest picks throughout every little thing included within the newest Steam sale.
As a result of it is Halloween season, I’ve positioned just a little additional weight on video games which have some horror-adjacent vibes, though there are nonetheless some inclusions in right here for the scare-averse. I can even affirm up-top that each single one of many video games in at the moment’s checklist is boasting its lowest ever value on Steam. There aren’t any flash offers to fret about this time, however make sure to seize every little thing you need by Thursday October 8, when the sale ends. Let’s get began.
007 First Mild: 30% off – $48.99 / £41.99
Beginning out with a wholesome low cost on one among 2026’s huge names, 007 First Mild takes every little thing that IO Interactive realized making the Hitman sequence and adapts it right into a extra story-driven, conventional journey full of loads of undercover agent panache. The result’s one thing that trades the open-ended nature of the studio’s previous outings for a extra linear story, however one which Paul praised as “a curated expertise that is tight from high to backside” in our overview.
Sons of the Forest: 71% off – $8.69 / £7.24
After its first outing in The Forest, developer Endnight Video games ramped up the scope and the stakes of its sinister survival recreation for the sequel. Sons of the Forest drops you onto a distant island stuffed with harmful cannibals, mutated terrors, and a small collection of weirdly fantastic potential companion characters. The trail you’re taking is yours to decide on, with you (and your folks, if you want) capable of construct out a formidable base, replenish for the chilly season, and battle your method by way of all method of miscreants.
Esoteric Ebb: 25% off – $18.74 / £14.17
Esoteric Ebb is one among 2026’s coolest newcomers, and may need slid below your radar. Developer Christoffer Bodegård slams collectively a D&D tabletop journey with the deep dialogue methods of Disco Elysium to craft a single-player RPG to recollect. Waking up in a morgue, human cleric Ragn Hemlin is tasked with investigating an explosion in a tea store that threatens to spiral native tensions between the assorted races of Norvik, simply days earlier than a looming election. Joined by goblin confederate Snell, you may roll cube in opposition to the interior voices of your six stats to resolve conflicts and resolve a thriller that society would slightly you did not.
Resonance: A Plague Story Legacy: 40% off – $48.58 / £42.73
Making a Plague Story recreation with out the swarming rats that outlined its identification was a daring determination by Asobo Studio, but this prequel set earlier than the occasions of the previous entries manages to recapture the magic nonetheless. It snuck out throughout a very busy launch schedule and with some notable efficiency issues, however now we’re simply over a month down the road you will get it at a surprisingly deep low cost. In the event you want extra convincing, learn Lauren’s overview to be taught why it is “completely” value taking part in.
Warhammer 40k: Mechanicus: 95% off – $1.49 / £1.24
Mechanicus 2 launched earlier this yr, and to barely underwhelming fanfare. That is to not say it is with out advantage, however Bulwark Studios’ first incarnation of its technique recreation sequence is so eye-poppingly low-cost right here that it is a straightforward suggestion. If the shortage of XCOM 3 or the latest launch of Star Wars: Zero Firm has you craving extra grid-based techniques, Mechanicus is nicely value attempting. Step into the boots of the technologically savvy Adeptus Mechanicus as you try to carry again the awakening of the Necrons, making powerful selections to a storming soundtrack. A terrific entry level to 40k, and a should for current followers.
The Outlast Trials: 90% off – $3.99 / £3.35
Of all of the co-op horror video games my pal group has dipped into over the previous a number of years, none have come near the hour depend racked up on The Outlast Trials. Crimson Barrels managed to remodel its single-player setting into a way more expressly ‘gamified’ and action-heavy outing with out tossing out the fear. It is grim, grisly, and retains you on the run, whereas nonetheless offering sufficient management and heft in your character to make issues really feel weighty. You will have a like-minded group, however when you’ve received one handy you may have a blast, and at this value it should not be onerous to persuade everybody to leap in.
The Witness: 90% off – $3.99 / £2.99
Jonathan Blow is gearing as much as launch his first grand head-scratcher in a decade – Order of the Sinking Star is due on Thursday October 8, the day this sale concludes. In the event you’ve by no means skilled The Witness, it is his true magnum opus, and could be the gold customary I maintain all puzzle video games to. It is a mastercrafted instance of taking one easy concept and constructing on it in dozens of the way, all wrapped in a good looking open atmosphere that permits you to bounce round once you get caught. Ideas are gently launched, then escalated similar to to depart each resolution feeling like an achievement – even earlier than you dig up the island’s deepest secrets and techniques.
Bramble: The Mountain King: 82% off – $5.39 / £4.49
Set in a grimdark land of Nordic fables, Dimfrost Studio’s 2023 action-adventure recreation Bramble: The Mountain King is a type of underappreciated indies I am going to at all times vouch for when it comes throughout my desk. Because the younger Olle, step out right into a haunting fantasy land in the hunt for your lacking sister. Do not count on the super-snappy gameplay of a Silksong, however in relation to environment, temper, and a few unsettlingly memorable creatures born of Scandinavian folklore, that is up there with classics like Limbo and Inside. It does not outstay its welcome, and has a climactic encounter that I simply cannot get out of my head.
Closing Fantasy 7 Rebirth: 70% off – $14.99 / £11.99
Yet one more spherical on the Closing Fantasy 7 practice as we glance in the direction of FF7 Revelation in April 2027. In the event you’ve been ready on the total trilogy earlier than setting out on Cloud Strife and co’s reimagined romp, you may wish to begin now if you are going to catch up in time with out burning your self out on simply how a lot Sq. Enix has packed into its first two chapters. Remake Intergrade can also be at an all-time low of 75% off, and when you’re there I am going to toss in a sneaky suggestion for the masterful Closing Fantasy Ways remake at a 40% low cost (likewise the most affordable it has been on Steam).
GTFO: 73% off – $10.79 / £9.44
There is a frequent conception that horror merely cannot be as scary when you have got weapons handy, as a result of it offers you the prospect to struggle again. If any recreation pushes again in opposition to that with brutal ferocity, it is GTFO. The debut outing for 10 Chambers, a studio based by Payday creator Ulf Andersson and that includes a number of of his former Overkill colleagues, this hardcore co-op FPS is vicious and unforgiving. Sensible use of stealth, cautious planning, clear coordination, and speedy execution are required to outlive – suppose Left 4 Useless with the lethality slider cranked as much as 11.
That is every little thing for now. As at all times, I want I might squeeze in a dozen extra of those, however what’s right here is already an actual cream of the crop among the many video games which have dropped their asking value decrease than ever earlier than. The Steam Autumn Sale 2026 ends on Thursday October 8 at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT / 7pm CEST.
