I don’t play many free-to-play video games, however Path of Exile was all the time the exception. It felt incredible, like Diablo however with a way more costly talent tree. The sequel, Path of Exile 2, adopted go well with with some fantastic enhancements, and I’ve been having fun with it significantly. Since I can keep in mind, the builders have been wanting it to be pleasing on the Steam Deck, and in accordance with Valve, it lastly is.

Not too long ago, the sport received the Steam Deck Verified badge. This observe that the sport’s default controller and graphical configuration work effectively, all of the controller icons are correct, and the in-game textual content is legible. It’s nice to see it lastly have the inexperienced test mark, however I do have some reservations about whether or not it deserves it.

I’ve performed the sport lots on the Steam Deck, however my expertise has all the time been mediocre. It performs decently in plenty of areas, however it requires plenty of visible compromise to hit 30. And even nonetheless, when there’s a ton of results on the display screen, there may very well be some drops right here and there. It’s not unplayable, however it’s very onerous for me to have a look at it and take into account it an amazing expertise.

Simply in case, I did look by means of the current previous changelogs for the sport on the Path of Exile 2 boards, however I didn’t see something about any enhancements for the Deck. It’s potential there’s something that helped the sport a bit extra on the machine, however based mostly on what I’ve performed, I might take into account it first rate. With the sport going free to play on December eleventh, it gained’t be lengthy till everybody can strive it out for themselves and see for themselves.

Path of Exile 2 could be bought for $29.99 throughout its early entry till it goes free-to-play on December eleventh.
